Stunning Georgian Regency Period Ruby & Pearl Cluster Ring c1820. A rare & stunning Regency Period Gold Ruby & Pearl Cluster Ring, which dates to c1820. This wonderful Antique Ring, which weighs 3.1 grams, has a reeded shank leading to the beautiful floral decorated tri-furcated shoulders supporting the circular bezel (diameter approx’ 9.0mm), which is set centrally with a Ruby surrounded by six Pearls interspersed by a further six smaller Rubies to create a ring that is simply sublime. As shown the ring is complete with it’s original bevelled glazed locket back with hairwork panel behind the bezel. Typical of the period, the ring is unmarked but it is guaranteed to be made from solid Gold (testing at approx’ 15 carat). Overall the ring is in really great condition with only wear, as shown, commensurate with a ring that was a loved and treasured possession. On close examination the ring has been re-sized a couple of times and a slightly Rose coloured piece has been inserted to enlarge the reeded shank – this won’t be noticed when the ring is worn and more mentioning for descriptive completeness. This superb Regency Ring is sized as a UK Ring Size’O 1/2′, which equates to a US Ring Size’7 1/2′; as with almost all antique rings the band is slightly ovalized i. E it is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gauge depending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring when worn.
