This is a classic strand, highly desirable, and in remarkable condition. The silk knots are tight and the pearls are lustrous, never worn since restrung. I did ask Tiffany not to polish the clasp since the clasp’s Tiffany hallmark is original and hand done in France, as you can see in the photo. It may well be one of Jean Schlumberger’s designs. Tiffany sent the strand back after re-stringing in a brand new navy blue Tiffany velvet snap, satin lined fold-over pearl pouch, complete with outer Tiffany box and white ribbon. The entire presentation is stunning, and would make any woman delighted. The pearls measure at or over 7mm near the center of the strand, and taper ever so slightly toward the clasp into the 6.5 to 7mm range.
