Victorian Coral Pearl Gold Demi-Parure

Victorian Coral Pearl Gold Demi-Parure. Victorian 18 karat yellow gold pink coral pearl and rose diamond brooch and ear pendants compose this charming and rare demi-parure. The floral design consists of multiple finely hand carved coral petals which are set on to a back of gold. In the center a small circular gold setting holds tiny seed pearls with one rose cut diamond in its center. The bottoms of the earrings can be detached if one wants to wear them in a shorter version. The pin on the back of the brooch is stamped with a French eagles head for 18 karat gold. All this is fit into an original box from the period. A true collectors item which can also be worn to that special occasion. Earrings 1.5 long. Brooch 1 3/8 in diameter. Earrings: 4.8 grams each. Brooch: 12.7 grams. Earrings: 3.1 dwt each. Victorian hair comb hair pin set Moorish style faux pearl hair accessories

A fine early Victorian comb and hair pin set in the Moorish or Algerian style. CONDITION: good vintage condition with expected wear. SIZE: comb 4 x 5 ins (10 x 13 cm); hairpins 3 ins h (7.5 cm). APPROXIMATE DATE: 1840s 1860s. This attractive type of hair accessory was specifically designed to be worn at the rear of the hairdressing, within or covering the chignon. It is accompanied by two hairpins also decorated with faux pearls to make a matching set. First we have a polished brass hair comb with five graduated tines and a deeply curved heading. A line of faux pearls follows the arc of the heading. Pendant from the extremities of the heading are a series of chains of gilded metal, each having a large oval of faux pearl at the end. In wear the chains hang down over the back hair and shake and tremble when the wearer moves. The matched pair of hair pins each has a globular top with a large faux pearl. The effect of similar ornaments in wear can be seen on the collage illustration. This is a compilation of Algerian style combs drawn from contemporary engravings and photographic portraits of the early to mid Victorian period. This comb is of a type generally called a peigne dAlger or Algerian comb. In the early 1840s the French-Algerian wars led to an interest in Moorish art, and this is strongly reflected in the design of comb headings and hairpins until about 1875. The Crimean War further helped to popularize Turkish and Oriental designs in. During the 1860s and 1970s. This Moorish influence was manifested in the use of pseudo-oriental and Islamic motifs and the use of dangling and curiously shaped pendants, looped chains beads and tassels on combs and hairpins. Victorian 18ct Rose Gold Old Diamond and Pearl Earings, Crown Setting, Leverback

These are a lovely pair of Victorian Pearl and Diamond earrings on 18ct Rose Gold, with gold leverback settings. The Pearl and Diamonds are set on the leaverback setting and do not drop, they have a dainty Old Cut Diamond above the pearl which are set in a diamond shaped setting. The Pearls below these dainty Diamonds are is set in a raised open work gold crown style setting. The diamond settings are white which is most likely silver due to the age of the earings, platinum was not uses until the early part of the 20th century and these earings would date to before then. The leaverback fittings work well with a secure fastening and good hinge action. The earing both bear the French eagle hallmark for 18ct gold and they also have a makers mark which I beleive to be either O C or O G (the mark is very small and difficult to determine with any certainty) which could be for possibly O C for Orjeure Christofle 1853 – 1935, please do your own research to confirm. The Pearls are apporx 3.5mm each The Old cut Diamonds are approx 1mm each The Diameter of the Pearl setting is approx 5mm The depth of the setting is approx 6mm Total drop is approx 1.4cm Weight 2.1 grams approx The earings are in good condition, however, please remember that this item is not brand new and as such it will show signs of previous use as we would expect from an Antique/vintage item. These are stunning earrings which look amazing when worn, they would make a unique gift to mark a special occasion such as a Wedding, Anniversar, or Birthday. This is a gold and silver beautiful butterfly brooch from the mid victorian period. The butterfly plays host to 4 seed pearls, 2 sapphires, 8 rubies and an array of rose cut diamonds. The coloured stones are set in yellow gold and the diamonds are silver set to enhance there sparkle. The rubies are a deep red and the blue sapphires have a medium hue. There is also a safety pin for reassurance when wearing. The clip at the back of the brooch unscrews allowing you to use it as a pendant, we are unsure exactly how but would say you put a chain through the antenna section. Superb antique Victorian/Edwardian rose gold (front & back) locket set with beautiful garnets and pearls. Semi frosted finish to the gold. It comes on it’s original antique gold chain. Visually spectacular this is an exceptional example of it’s type. It is good usable condition including good clean interior and both photo rings. Back & front to the reverse. The locket measures 1.5 x 1 ins including decorative gold bale. The unmarked gold chain measures 22.5 ins. A few very light minor dents to the reverse. No UK Friday posting.
