Antique Earrings Pendant Set Victorian Cameo 18k Gold Diamonds Pearls (6323)

Antique Victorian Classic Revival demi parure jewelry set consisting of a pair of earrings / day/night ear pendants and a pendant. 18k yellow gold, diamonds, pearls, carved agate hardstone cameos. Measurements: Earrings are a little over 1 1/2 inches long (4cm), not including the wires. Pendant approximatley 2 inches (8.5 cm) long. Combined weight is 34.2 grams. Description: Matching pendant and earrings. All have surmounts in the form of fleur de lis, set with pearls and diamonds. Surmount of the pendant is attached to the front of the bale. Loops connect the tops to flaring gold ribbon scrolls set on the apex of oval cameo mounts. The gold mounts are set with parls and diamonds. Pearls are believed to be natural (not cultured). Mounts hold wonderful orange-brown agate with white upper sections carved away to show relief portraits of women in profile, very much in the Classic Revival style. These women come straight out of Ancient Rome. A 2nd layer of orange agate above the white is cleverly used to color the hair of the women. Detail of carving is especially fine and the women are quite beautiful. Their jewelry is especially interesting and gives us an insight into what women wore at the time. Earrings are convertible – day/night or top drop. The tops can be disconnected (easily) from the bottoms in order to wear them with a simpler look by day (tops) or for a more elegant look at night. The pendant was probably an example of transformable or convertible jewelry, so popular in the Victorian era. The back shows attachments that are no longer in use. Marks: All pieces are hallmarked. The French owl, used for items of 18k gold imported / of unknown maker appears on every item. Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. A gorgeous 6 piece set of antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver dessert knives. The handles are carved from solid mother of pearl, luminous with an iridescent sheen displaying magnificent flashes of color. Solid, sturdy and with a good weight in hand. Decorated with applied monogram of interlaced initials FE or EF. Complimented nicely by the ornate sterling ferrules topping the handles, patterned as stylized scrolling acanthus with exquisite detail. Richly enhanced with gold vermeil finish. The blades are hallmarked for. Most knives are crafted with lesser. 800 silver or steel blades, so it is a real treat to find a set with blades of a higher finesse of silver. The blades are hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than. Antique Estate 14K Gold 2ctw Diamond Cluster Drop Earrings Silver Top Settings

Antique Estate Jewelry: Drop Diamond Cluster Earrings with 14K yellow gold hook backs, having a top silver area with prong set Diamonds. The twenty two antique old mine cut round faceted diamonds have a calculated total weight of approximately 2 Carats total weight diamonds. The diamonds have G-J color grade range, and VS1-SI2 clarity grade range. One of the earrings has a chip in the top center table of the diamond, as can be seen in the pictures. The 14K yellow gold shephard backs have a hook for closure. Date: circa late 1800s. Not Marked: Tested 14K yellow gold backs and silver top area settings. Total Weight of the pair: 4.6 grams. Size: approximately 11.8mm diameter x 6mm depth. The total height of the hanging earring including the hook is approximately 20mm height. The center diamond in each of the earrings has a calculated weight of approximately 0.2 Carats, (the center diamond in each of these earrings looks larger because the depth is small with a flat bottom – measuring approximately 6mm diameter x 1.37mm depth). The 10 antique diamonds surrounding each center diamond have a calculated weight of 0.08 of a carat each. Therefore, this pair has a calculated total weight of 2ctw Diamonds. Good antique condition: As expected with antique jewelry, there are light scratches in the precious metals commensurate with true age and gentle wear. Antique OSTBY & BARTON 14K White Gold Pearl Solitaire Pearl Ring High Setting. This lovely 14K white gold pearl ring is by Ostby & Barton. In 1879 Engelhart Ostby formed a partnership with Nathan Barton. The firm became the world’s largest producer of gold rings. In 1912 he decided to return from one of his many European trips on the Titanic, carrying with him his old doctor’s bag he always used when travelling, filled with gems, precious stones, and other valuables that he had bought in Paris. Unfortunately, he never made it back, as he went down with the Titanic. The business continued into the 1950s. The pearl is set in a high setting with six prongs. The white gold setting is beautifully engraved on the top, bottom, and sides. The sides show a wheat pattern, which was popular during the Edwardian period and early 1920s.
