This is for an absolutely delightful, stunning, Art Deco set of 18ct gold rim, enamel, mother of pearl and turquoise button set. The impressive, superbly crafted set comprises of six buttons. All buttons are hallmarked “18CT” around the edge of the rims, this is for 18 carat gold fineness. The rims have also been independently tested and show as 18ct gold. The larger, outer circle of the button face is made from white enamel, this has a jet black border which separates and defines the enamel from the inner circle which is made from beautiful, iridescent mother of pearl. The center of the buttons are set with stunning turquoise. As already mentioned the fine buttons are encapsulated within a very high carat gold. This in itself is quite rare as most similar button sets were more commonly made from unmarked 9 carat gold. The reverse of the button are also of great quality and are also. They are made from mother of pearl with gilt metal eyes. The gilt is in great condition. The buttons still have all of their six fastening hooks. These are also made from gilt metal. All attach perfectly to the buttons and work exactly as should. Diameter of each button 1. Total overall weight for the set is 8.88grams. All are housed within a period brown leatherette box with a silk and velvet lined inner. The presentation box measures 6 inches in length x 2 inches depth. The buttons appear to have been very well loved and cared for, seldomly used and then safely stored away for many years in a draw.
