Pearl Gold Set

A breathtakingly exquisite antique signed French solid 18K rose and yellow gold seed pearl hard stone cameo pendant/brooch and earrings demi parure, marks of the Parisian jeweler Savard, dating to circa 1880. The Maison Savard was started in Paris by Francois Savard in the mid 19th century. His son Auguste joined him in the 1880’s before taking the company over from his father in 1893. The Maison Savard had some wonderful jewelry designers, most notably Jean Baptiste Emile Dropsy, Louis Brochu and Edmund-Henri Becker. This gorgeous demi parure would have been some of the finest jewelery to come out of the Maison, every part of the demi parure has been created in meticulous and exquisite detail. The set consists of three wonderful hard stone cameos-the earrings facing each other-showing lovely carvings of beautiful young women with flowing hair and adorned in jewelry. The base of the cameos is a stunning mauve color which lights up spectacularly in the light to an amazing fiery sunrise orange. The cameos are set in solid 18K rose gold frames with beautiful scrolling decorations all around, set with graduating seed pearls and topped with fabulous applied solid 18K yellow gold carved leaves. The earrings have French wires fronted by lovely pearl decorated gold flower heads while the pendant can be used as a necklace or a brooch. Both the pendant and the earrings have the French eagle heads for 18K gold and are stamped with’Savard’ inside a triangle. They come in an antique blue velvet and red leather box. The pendant measures approximately 46mm x 32mm, the cameo alone about 30mm x 22mm. The earrings measure approximately 50mm long, their cameos alone about 15mm x 11mm. The total weight of the demi parure is about 21.4 grams. All three pieces are in excellent, perfect condition and look barely used. Thanks for looking and please take a look at my other items!
