The body of the Pendant has a scalloped pentafoil shape, centrally set with a round Opal Cabochon in a millegrain setting surrounded by Seed Pearls with further garland decoration similarly set with fine Seed Pearls. The Pendant is suspended from a Pearl set bale and terminates with an articulated Pearl set Long Drop suspending an oval collet – millegrain set with an Opal Cabochon, which complements the central stone perfectly. He Opals display a fabulous play of colours with good green & pink fire being the predominant colours against a white background. The Pendant is stamped’15c’ on the reverse confirming that it is made from solid 15ct Gold and it is stamped with the co-joined maker’s mark’MB & Co’ for Murrle Bennett & Co, as shown, which was an Anglo/German company that produced jewellery for the iconic Liberty & Co of London among others and is now regarded as one of the most important makers of the period.
