Very unusual and unique antique Edwardian brooch, marked 15ct yellow gold. An arched frame is set with a grid of natural seed pearls and topped with a row of eight cabochon-set faceted square amethysts. The frame comes to a point at the bottom from which hangs a fine, pear-shaped, deep purple amethyst en tremblant. There is a sturdy pin on the rear and a traditional C-shaped clasp.
