Fine Antique Edwardian Gold Bracelet This is just a beautiful quality bracelet in exceptional condition. It has 15ct gold solid links, in a three bar gate style and a good weight. It dates to around the turn of the century – C. 1905-10 and is set with pearls and turquoise both of which were in high fashion at the time. It is in 15ct yellow gold, a favourite choice of many jewellery manufacturers and retailers of the period – especially those like Liberties and Murrle Bennett. I love the 15ct gold mark This standard of gold was introduced in 1854 (along with 12 & 9ct) and was discontinued in 1932 (along with 12ct) and a new standard of 14ct was substituted. So if you have a piece marked 15ct you can be sure it was made between those two dates. It is extremely well made and is also reversible – wear it showing the turquoise and pearls or turn it over and wear it plain, it has the versatility of a Victorian “night & day” bracelet where the fancy side would be worn in the evening and plain side during the day.
