Angel Skin Coral & Jade Carved Shou Dragon Bead Set Necklace & Earrings 14K Gold. A lovely set of Chinese carved coral and Jade bead necklace and earrings in 14K gold. Comprised of natural and untreated Angel Skin corals and Jadeite Jade beads, with each bead meticulously hand-carved all around with two Shou symbols for long happy life and two crouching dragons. The beads were likely carved in the 1930s to the 1960s. Mottled color with the Angel Skin corals presenting as very light orange with streaks of white here and there; the Jadeite Jade beads in green with streaks of white. Necklace: Measures 29 inches long (end to end), 57 carved graduating coral beads ranging in size from approximately 14.47 mm to 2.25 mm in diameter; and 18 Jadeite Jade carved beads with average size of 9 mm in diameter. Restrung with each bead individually double-knotted. (Note: due to graduating beads, it is more suitable to wear the necklace long rather than double-layer, because the larger beads will be on the side instead of the front in order to avoid showing the clasp). Set Vtg 14k Gold 7mm Ball Bead 15 Wheat Chain Necklace 8 Bracelet O-ring Close

This listing is for an impressive and hard to find (HTF) , in very good condition, rare matched necklace and bracelet set. Hard to date, this centuries old classic necklace/bracelet design of simple round bead balls strung on wheat weave chain is made of 14kt gold. The O-ring closure/fasteners do help, somewhat, in dating the 2 pieces that make up this set. Both the 15″ inch wheat chain necklace and matching 8″ inch wheat chain bracelet are strung with 7mm hollow 14kt gold round ball beads. On the necklace – ” 14KT ” is marked on the O-ring spring fastener as well as being lightly marked on a much smaller O-ring tag at the opposite end of its’ chain(requires use of jeweler’s loupe to see smaller). Markings on the 8 bracelet are not as distinct. There are faint markings on the bracelet’s o-ring fastener but they are not clear enough to say with certainty that it is “14KT”. (See pix# 11) Both pieces acid test as 14kt. Can be worn as a set on certain occasions or singly on others and with any outfit. As a novelty the bracelet could serve as an “extender” for the necklace creating a single strand of 23 inches (see pix# 4 and 7).
