Rare Victorian c1890 Turquoise and Pearl 14K Gold Festoon Necklace 14.5 14.7g

A magnificent English late Victorian circa 1890 festoon necklace in 14K gold with natural turquoise and cultured pearl drops. The total length of the necklace is 14.5 inches (approx 37 cm). There are a total of seven (7) turquoise teardrops, measuring approx 12mm (L) x 7mm (width at widest point). Seven turquoise cabochons, bezel set, round, with diameter approx. Twenty two seed pearls, bezel set, round, ranging in size from 1.7mm diameter to 2.4mm diameter. There are no visible hallmarks, but the gold has been acid tested at 14K. The length of the center drop, from cabochon to end of teardrop is 34mm. The hook and eye clasp is fully functional. The entire piece is in pristine condition. This is a rare, museum quality item. The necklace is set with brilliant red rhinestones in round cuts. The metal chain portion of the necklace measures 13 1/4 long, however it has cord attached to it to make it longer and adjustable.
