Cameo Earrings Brooch Archaeological Revival Set Gold Pearls Victorian (6420)

Antique Victorian Archaelogical Revival boxed set earrings and brooch – enhancer pendant. 14k Gold hardstone cameos and pearls. Made in England circa 1865-80 and retailed by Hunt & Roskell who retailed Guiliano and other maker’s jewelry to the likes of Queen Victoria and her family. See original fitted box. Measurements: Brooch pendant is just over 1 3/8 inch long (35mm); Earrings, excluding wires and pearl drops are 7/8 inch (21mm) long. Combined weight is 22.8 grams. Description : Demi Parure (set) consisting of a brooch that can be worn as a pendant/enhancer and a pair of earrings. Made of oval dark blue-grey hardstone with a layer of white carved away to reveal a beautiful goddess shown in profile. Curling hair with a diadem of laurel leaves shown in miniscule detail. Features are very Classic – see the sculptured mouth, partially open and very Greek. A ring of gold claws holds each cameo in place and it is surrounded by a ring of pearls. A trio of pearls drop from each earring and swing slightly as the wearer moves. Wires of earrings are most likely replacements, typical of jewelry of this period. The set comes in an original fitted Hunt & Roskell box. Hunt & Roskell were a very high end jewelry retailer, by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Victoria and other Royal patrons. The box is leather on the outside, blue silk embossed with gold inside the lid, purple velvet on the padded bottom and has 8 sides. Clasp of box fits and closes well and securely. Cameos are exceptional in quality and appearance. Marks: The brooch has engraved 10 and RU nh on the back. We do not know who/what this refers to. The wires of the earrings have 14k gold hallmarks. I tested the gold of the actual brooch – very strong 14k not 18k (probably 15k). Inside the lid of the box is embossed in gold with a picture of the Royal Crown above Hunt & Roskell Late Storr & Mortimer Jewellers & Goldsmiths to the Queen and Royal Family. 156 New Bond Street. Condition: Good with minor wear/restoration commensurate with age and use. The pin of the brooch was replaced some time in the past. It was detached and our restorer re-attached it. The wires of the earrings are replacements, as mentioned. There are a few border areas of the cameos that have chipped away. These are relatively minor and can be seen in the enlarged pictures. Sculpted faces in good shape. There is a tear in the silk lining of the box (on right of embossed markings). Antique Earrings Pendant Set Victorian Cameo 18k Gold Diamonds Pearls (6323)

Antique Victorian Classic Revival demi parure jewelry set consisting of a pair of earrings / day/night ear pendants and a pendant. 18k yellow gold, diamonds, pearls, carved agate hardstone cameos. Measurements: Earrings are a little over 1 1/2 inches long (4cm), not including the wires. Pendant approximatley 2 inches (8.5 cm) long. Combined weight is 34.2 grams. Description: Matching pendant and earrings. All have surmounts in the form of fleur de lis, set with pearls and diamonds. Surmount of the pendant is attached to the front of the bale. Loops connect the tops to flaring gold ribbon scrolls set on the apex of oval cameo mounts. The gold mounts are set with parls and diamonds. Pearls are believed to be natural (not cultured). Mounts hold wonderful orange-brown agate with white upper sections carved away to show relief portraits of women in profile, very much in the Classic Revival style. These women come straight out of Ancient Rome. A 2nd layer of orange agate above the white is cleverly used to color the hair of the women. Detail of carving is especially fine and the women are quite beautiful. Their jewelry is especially interesting and gives us an insight into what women wore at the time. Earrings are convertible – day/night or top drop. The tops can be disconnected (easily) from the bottoms in order to wear them with a simpler look by day (tops) or for a more elegant look at night. The pendant was probably an example of transformable or convertible jewelry, so popular in the Victorian era. The back shows attachments that are no longer in use. Marks: All pieces are hallmarked. The French owl, used for items of 18k gold imported / of unknown maker appears on every item. Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Elaborate gold shield style earrings, intricately decorated with threads of gold by twisting them into this beautiful design using the Filigree technique, and decorated. From the trapezoid bar at the base are suspended three pelleted drops with beads of Pearls and an emerald bead in the centre pelleted drops of both earrings. Antique Victorian French 18K Gold Pearl Cameo Necklace Pendant Earrings Set

A breathtakingly exquisite antique signed French solid 18K rose and yellow gold seed pearl hard stone cameo pendant/brooch and earrings demi parure, marks of the Parisian jeweler Savard, dating to circa 1880. The Maison Savard was started in Paris by Francois Savard in the mid 19th century. His son Auguste joined him in the 1880’s before taking the company over from his father in 1893. The Maison Savard had some wonderful jewelry designers, most notably Jean Baptiste Emile Dropsy, Louis Brochu and Edmund-Henri Becker. This gorgeous demi parure would have been some of the finest jewelry to come out of the Maison, every part of the demi parure has been created in meticulous and exquisite detail. The set consists of three wonderful hard stone cameos-the earrings facing each other-showing lovely carvings of beautiful young women with flowing hair and adorned in jewelry. The base of the cameos is a stunning mauve color which lights up spectacularly in the light to an amazing fiery sunrise orange. The cameos are set in solid 18K rose gold frames with beautiful scrolling decorations all around, set with graduating seed pearls and topped with fabulous applied solid 18K yellow gold carved leaves. The earrings have French wires fronted by lovely pearl decorated gold flower heads and the pendant can be used as a necklace or a brooch. Both the pendant and the earrings have the French eagle heads for 18K gold and are stamped with’Savard’ inside a triangle. They come in an antique blue velvet and red leather box. The pendant measures approximately 46mm x 32mm, the cameo alone about 30mm x 22mm. The earrings measure approximately 50mm long, their cameos alone about 15mm x 11mm. The total weight of the demi parure is about 21.4 grams. All three pieces are in excellent, perfect condition and look barely used. Thanks for looking and please take a look at my other items! Antique Victorian 14K Gold Cameo Pearl Pendant Brooch Earring Set Estate Jewelry. This magnificent Victorian era set features yellow, rose, and green gold, with 15 seed pearls, floral designs, dangling tassels, detailed etchings, and three oval shaped cameos. The center piece has a brooch pin on the back, as well as a bale that swings up so it can be used on a necklace. The screw-back posts on the earrings are stamped “10-KT”, but the bodies of each piece have been professionally tested and are guaranteed 14K solid gold or better, as some English Victorian pieces are made of 15K gold. There are no other stamps evident. They have been left in their original condition without any extensive cleaning or polishing. They show some tarnishing as some gold alloys do over time. Take a close look at all of the details by enlarging the pictures. This set comes in it’s original octagonal shaped purple velvet wooden box, with the initials “AH” on the metal latch.
