The dark Japanned, lacquered, frames are beautifully highlighted with mother of pearl inlaid garlands, foliate and floral detail accentuated by gold leaf highlights. The splayed tapering and turned front legs and circular section rear are united by a box stretcher with the fore most delicately turned. The pinched stiles rise into the shaped crest rail above the swagged splat. In proportion to the construct, the caned seat is held within a formed frame at a comfortable height. Bergere cane seating in good order save for some expected sag consistent with use in two of the chairs. VTG 14K YELLOW GOLD ANGEL SKIN CORAL RING With SMALL PEARL IN LEAF SETTING SIZE 8

This is a vintage 14K yellow gold (marked) angel skin coral ring with a small pearl in a leaf setting. There are three leaves, a tiny gold ball and a tendril on one side, and three leaves a the pearl on the other side. The coral balls are 6.3 and 6.5 millimeters, and the pearl is 3.3 millimeters. The top of the ring rises a little more than 1/4 inch above the finger. The ring is size 8 and weighs 3.1 grams. There is a maker’s mark of an upper case M with a curvy line through it.
