Antique Victorian Necklace & Earring Set. How fabulous is this? An original set from the around 1890’s -1900 Victorian period in yellow gold and set with three beautiful real natural Amethysts and real pearls. So hard to come by original sets these days and this is a particularly good one with some beautiful lilac Amethysts. A great birthday (February Birthstone) or Pearl Anniversary present. Each faceted oval Amethyst is set in a prong and pierced gallery with four plain bezel set pearls at each quarter. Amethysts and pearls were very popular during the Edwardian period and the placing of the pearls on this set is very Pugilistic / Gothic in style. The necklace has an approximate 16 carat Amethyst (20.10mm x 15.60mm x 9.09mm) and the earrings are 6.14 carats each (14mm x 11mmm x 7mm) making the total carat weight of this set more than 28 carats. There are no marks on the set at all but they test over 9ct gold and I guarantee them as such. Condition is perfect and they come in a beautiful large refurbished antique leather box (not the original) which looks impressive and is perfect for giving.
