During the 1960s and 70s, a new fashion sense emerged blending multi-functional elements of the traditional timepiece with the innovative ways to wear a timepiece. Women had already been empowered post world war two as the case designs of concealed bracelet watches were introduced and by the 1960s and 70s all the major design firms such as Cartier and Van Cleef had been on the lookout for additional new ways to wear a timepiece.
