During the 1960s and 70s, a new fashion sense emerged blending multi-functional elements of the traditional timepiece with the innovative ways to wear a timepiece. Women had already been empowered post world war two as the case designs of concealed bracelet watches were introduced and by the 1960s and 70s all the major design firms such as Cartier and Van Cleef had been on the lookout for additional new ways to wear a timepiece. This is a Krementz 4 Piece Set of Solid 14K Yellow Gold, Mother of Pearl and Sapphire Accent Shirt Studs. Each piece is lightly marked 14K and has the Krementz & Company Symbol and is also marked “Bodkin” all as pictured. They are done in plain Yellow Gold with a bright polished finish. Each piece has a round Mother of Pearl inlay measuring 16mm in diameter set in a Blue Enamel Decorated (some minor enamel loss) Yellow Gold surround. The Shirt Stud Tops measure 14mm in diameter. The 4 piece set has a total weight of 9.9 grams on my digital postal scale. All pieces are in excellent condition and the toggle backs move smoothly between positions and hold firmly.
