Fine Victorian 9ct Gold Natural Seed Pearl Set Star Pendant / Brooch, Pearl Bale

This is a fine 9ct Gold Natural Seed Pearl Set Star Pendant or Brooch. Late Victorian, C1880, and marked 9ct on the reverse, the pearls are beautifully and delicately set into an elegant star shape, so popular in the Victorian period. It has one larger pearl set slightly proud in the centre, eighteen of the same size set around it, and six smaller pearls at the points, and with a further one on the bale. It measures 3cm in diameter, (1.25), and weighs 4 grams. It has a delicately shaped gold bale with inset pearl for hanging onto a chain should you wish, all original. There has been no restoration to this piece and is all in beautiful condition as can be seen from my photos. The Bangle has an internal circumference of 6 5/8″ (16.7 cm) with the safety chain 2 3/4″ in length and a weight of 6.07 grams. Antique Victorian Earrings Birds Pave Set Turquoise Pearls Gold Silver (4290)

Like most Victorian jewellery, gems set in silver on gold. Approximately 1 3/4 inches long. Weigh 7.8grams together. Ear studds replace the original earwires. They are connected by loops to an oval support on which a bird, with partially open wings perches above a moving branch with foliage and golden berries. Another gold’berry’ (a gold bead) swings from the bottom. The bird is pave set with turquoise and pearls and has one red eye, which is probably a tiny ruby (too small for me to test). The gold is variously textured with very fine detail to the foliage. The earrings are very well made and quite exquisite. Very comfortable to wear and best of all, match every outfit. Rare Victorian c1890 Turquoise and Pearl 14K Gold Festoon Necklace 14.5 14.7g

A magnificent English late Victorian circa 1890 festoon necklace in 14K gold with natural turquoise and cultured pearl drops. The total length of the necklace is 14.5 inches (approx 37 cm). There are a total of seven (7) turquoise teardrops, measuring approx 12mm (L) x 7mm (width at widest point). Seven turquoise cabochons, bezel set, round, with diameter approx. Twenty two seed pearls, bezel set, round, ranging in size from 1.7mm diameter to 2.4mm diameter. There are no visible hallmarks, but the gold has been acid tested at 14K. The length of the center drop, from cabochon to end of teardrop is 34mm. The hook and eye clasp is fully functional. The entire piece is in pristine condition. This is a rare, museum quality item. Antique Earrings Pendant Set Victorian Cameo 18k Gold Diamonds Pearls (6323)

Antique Victorian Classic Revival demi parure jewelry set consisting of a pair of earrings / day/night ear pendants and a pendant. 18k yellow gold, diamonds, pearls, carved agate hardstone cameos. Measurements: Earrings are a little over 1 1/2 inches long (4cm), not including the wires. Pendant approximatley 2 inches (8.5 cm) long. Combined weight is 34.2 grams. Description: Matching pendant and earrings. All have surmounts in the form of fleur de lis, set with pearls and diamonds. Surmount of the pendant is attached to the front of the bale. Loops connect the tops to flaring gold ribbon scrolls set on the apex of oval cameo mounts. The gold mounts are set with parls and diamonds. Pearls are believed to be natural (not cultured). Mounts hold wonderful orange-brown agate with white upper sections carved away to show relief portraits of women in profile, very much in the Classic Revival style. These women come straight out of Ancient Rome. A 2nd layer of orange agate above the white is cleverly used to color the hair of the women. Detail of carving is especially fine and the women are quite beautiful. Their jewelry is especially interesting and gives us an insight into what women wore at the time. Earrings are convertible – day/night or top drop. The tops can be disconnected (easily) from the bottoms in order to wear them with a simpler look by day (tops) or for a more elegant look at night. The pendant was probably an example of transformable or convertible jewelry, so popular in the Victorian era. The back shows attachments that are no longer in use. Marks: All pieces are hallmarked. The French owl, used for items of 18k gold imported / of unknown maker appears on every item. Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
