A SUPERB QUALITY SINGLE ROW CULTURED PEARL NECKLACE & CLIP EARRING SET BY CIRO – C1960S. 9CT GOLD CLASPS, ORIGINAL PERIOD BOX. IF YOU ARE ONLY GOING TO OWN A SINGLE PEARL NECKLACE, THIS IS IT! These pearls are beautifully matched and the necklace has been professionally restrung on silk threads for every day wear. The necklace is accompanied by a pair of button sprung clip earrings on 9ct gold clasps. This set dates from C1960s and all clasps are marked Ciro. This set is presented in the original faux chagrin presentation box and will make a wonderful gift. The 1960s were a boom time for the company and they led the way in the development of faux pearls and later Zirconia, a diamond substitute. They produced a significant range of superb quality costume jewellery, marketed both under there own brand name and for major jewellers & dept. Much of the later output is unsigned, but all of their output is of enduring quality and is keenly sought after. A single row of matched white luster cultured pearls and has the classic Ciro 9ct gold barrel clasp. The necklace measures 18.0 in length and each pearl is 0.2 in diameter. Are button sprung clip type and the findings are stamped Ciro 9ct. They are approximately 0.20 in diameter. Is the original period Ciro faux chagrin finish and are fitted with a satin interior. It is in excellent vintage condition 1. With only very minor age related wear evident. It has an excellent hidden hinge. These items are in vintage condition 1. There is minor age related wear to the gold clasp components, with only very minor delamination to the metal work.
